Do I pay for IoT SIM cards that are not sending data?
No. You only pay for SIMs that are actively connected to a network. This includes actions like data sessions, location updates, or network registration. If a SIM doesn’t connect, you won’t be charged.
What additional fees are there for using the Velocity Flex Platform?
Velocity Flex Plans include a usage-based access fee with a built-in data allowance and an overage rate if you exceed your pooled limit. This access fee is only charged when there’s network activity.
All IoT SIMs sold via Digi-Key come with 3 IMSIs (multi-carrier profiles) for enhanced global coverage and redundancy. In rare cases, if a SIM uses more than one IMSI within a single billing cycle, an additional fee may apply — typically only if a device switches IMSIs due to lack of network availability.
